AllMusic Review by. Each song on the sprawling double album The Beatles is an entity to itself, as the band touches on anything and everything it can. This makes for a frustratingly scattershot record or a singularly gripping musical experience, depending on your view, but what makes the so-called White Album interesting is its mess.
The most remarkable thing about the White Album to me is the amazing diversity of music contained within its tracks. I can't think of another record that comes close to matching it for the sheer diversity of styles and sounds. If you are bored listening to this one or can't find anything you like, well, you're a tough nut to crack.
Yellow Submarine (1969) The Beatles, also known as the White Album, is the ninth studio album and only double album by the English rock band the Beatles, released on 22 November 1968.
First published in 1979, The White Album records indelibly the upheavals and aftermaths of the 1960s. Examining key events, figures, and trends of the era - including Charles Manson, the Black Panthers, and the shopping mall - through the lens of her own spiritual confusion, Joan Didion helped to define mass culture as we now understand it.
